Yvette LuYvette Lu is an actor whose work overflows with passion, creativity, intelligence, and heart. Her films have appeared on television and in film festivals across North America, including at the Vancouver Asian Film Festival and the Route 66 Film Festival (Illinois), and on the Shaw Network and Shaw Multicultural Channel. Food for the Gods, a sci-fi/romantic drama based loosely on the Pocahontas story, and Servants of War, a Chinese/Japanese language film set in China during World War II, were both featured at the 2008 Vancouver Asian Film Festival. 

Yvette lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and has studied acting at the University of British Columbia, Circle in the Square (New York City), Carousel Theatre, and Schoolcreative, as well as with other teachers around Vancouver. Favourite theatre roles include Prospero (The Tempest) and Hermia (A Midsummer Night's Dream) with Carousel Summer Theatre, and Lucy in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown

In addition to acting, Yvette has worked behind the scenes on several films. Baby Donut, a short film that she co-wrote, co-directed, and co-produced was featured in the Shaw Multicultural Channel Filmmakers Showcase. She was post-production producer for Food for the Gods, and composer for several films including Food for the Gods, Servants of War, and The Light at the End of the Road. Yvette is a classically trained pianist and loves to sing, write, and dance. She also enjoys swimming, skiing, surfing, yoga, and rock climbing.

Prior to pursuing acting, Yvette completed her medical training at the University of British Columbia and continues to work as a family physician. She is currently writing a play based on her experiences as a doctor titled "Stories from the Closet: a play about living with chronic illness".

An actor, writer, musician, filmmaker, and family physician, Yvette is often likened to a modern day renaissance woman. Her goal is to create projects that are entertaining and that also illuminate the human experience.
